
Job Description
A. Team Leadership
- Model high standards of Christian leadership, spiritual maturity, integrity, and professionalism; serve as a positive example to staff and stakeholders.

- Ensure strong individual and team performance through regular coaching, mentoring, and structured meetings.
- Coach staff on leadership and project management models.
- Facilitate quarterly learning and reflection sessions to strengthen staff capacity.
- Invest in talent development to build a strong pipeline of future leaders.
- Champion Transformational Development (TD) by inspiring staff toward sustainable and life‑changing impact through lived TD competencies.
B. Building Relationships
- Maintain and strengthen strategic partnerships with key government institutions and stakeholders (e.g. DHS, PARTISIPA, BTL), particularly at the municipal level.
- Ensure partnerships with development actors prioritize the well‑being of children, especially the most vulnerable.
- Represent the organization in district‑level technical working groups and coordination forums.
C. Project Management and Technical Quality Assurance
- Facilitate effective teamwork, coordination, and work planning among Community Development Officers (CDOs), Project Managers, Area Managers, and technical teams.
- Ensure integration of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and WASH approaches, including climate‑resilient infrastructure and hygiene promotion.
- Coordinate and network internally and externally (within and beyond WV) to secure technical resources for effective project implementation.
- Develop Terms of Reference (TORs), manage technical trainings, and oversee logistics and financial administration of sector activities.
- Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets, explain variances, and ensure responsible use of funds.
- Manage and report budgets in line with national office accountability standards and donor requirements, ensuring high financial stewardship and integrity.
- Serve as the primary technical link to ensure CDOs and communities are informed of current sector approaches, tools, and technologies.
- Identify training needs, develop materials, and deliver capacity‑building trainings for staff and volunteers.
- Support Project and Area Managers in preparing high‑quality and timely Monthly Management Reports by providing technical progress updates.
- Provide continuous training and coaching to CDOs on TD principles.
D. Program Design, Monitoring and Evaluation (DME)
- Support assessments, design, monitoring, and evaluation processes aligned with WVTL DME standards and guidelines.
- Share lessons learned with communities, development partners, and WV stakeholders.
- Ensure monitoring systems and tools are developed and effectively used to track progress and capture learning; train staff on their use.
- Coordinate revisions of plans and budgets based on monitoring findings, reflection, and community feedback.
- Lead the drafting and submission of Semi‑Annual and Annual Project Reports in accordance with donor guidelines.
- Provide strategic leadership for the annual Program Quality Self‑Review (PQSR) and PQ Matrix process, ensuring national‑level action plans support TD competency progress.
- Promote evidence‑based interventions and standardized project models for sustainable scaling‑up.
- Engage with government bodies, churches, and partners to ensure sustainability and expansion of successful models.
E. General Responsibilities
- Attend and actively participate in weekly chapel services and regular devotional meetings.
- Support and coordinate visits from sponsors, donors, and WV staff, ensuring high‑quality engagement and showcasing project impact.
- Maintain strong donor relationships by meeting—and where possible exceeding—expectations through evidence‑based impact reporting.
- Assist with humanitarian emergency and disaster response as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned; this job description may be adjusted as organizational needs evolve.
Required Professional Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience, preferably in DRR and Climate Change Adaptation.
- Demonstrated experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and report writing.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
Required Education and Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Development Studies, Social Sciences, Humanities, Philosophy).
- Experience in Climate‑Smart Agriculture is an advantage.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to supervise and mentor staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Understanding of the humanitarian and development sector.
- Strategic thinking and problem‑solving ability.
- Strong presentation and communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to ride a motorbike with a valid license or willingness to learn.
